Heidi is a Kelowna, BC, native who began painting in the 1990s and later studied drawing, painting and art history in university. Although she eventually changed her major and studied the art of writing, she likes to think of visual art as her second language since “some things are best communicated in brush strokes.” Painting is an unending learning process, and for that reason Heidi coordinates, hosts and participates in workshops in her studio.

Heidi’s focus is to capture quiet moments of peace in her nature paintings, inviting the viewer to stop, breathe, and remember that we are surrounded by God’s miraculous creation. Her jazz paintings come from a desire to convey the gifts each of us have and the joy we find when we are able to utilize them and share them with others.

Heidi works in oils, acrylics and mixed media.
